Current Status of Crop Planting in Ukraine as of April 2025
As of April 11, farmers across Ukraine have sown 1,058.6 thousand hectares of spring grains and legumes. In the Zaporizhia region, corn planting has commenced.
This information is provided by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the ministry's estimates, the largest area of planting is currently attributed to barley – 612.2 thousand hectares. Spring wheat has been sown on 141.1 thousand hectares, peas on 182.8 thousand hectares, oats on 106.1 thousand hectares, and corn on 0.02 thousand hectares.
The leading regions in sowing pace are:
- Odesa region: 107.2 thousand hectares (wheat – 6.1 thousand hectares, barley – 33.5 thousand hectares, peas – 59.1 thousand hectares, oats – 1.4 thousand hectares);
- Ternopil region: 88.1 thousand hectares (wheat – 14 thousand hectares, barley – 64.1 thousand hectares, peas – 4.1 thousand hectares, oats – 5.3 thousand hectares);
- Poltava region: 86.3 thousand hectares (wheat – 4.5 thousand hectares, barley – 69.1 thousand hectares, peas – 9.6 thousand hectares, oats – 3.1 thousand hectares);
- Khmelnytskyi region: 84.9 thousand hectares (wheat – 10 thousand hectares, barley – 69.8 thousand hectares, peas – 2.6 thousand hectares, oats – 2.5 thousand hectares);
Additionally, 51.5 thousand hectares have been sown with sunflowers, 76 thousand hectares with sugar beets, and 4.5 thousand hectares with soybeans.
