Naftogaz Imports Gas to Recover from Attacks
Since the beginning of 2025, the company "Naftogaz" has imported about 800 million cubic meters of gas due to hostilities and a decrease in production.
This was reported by the press service of "Naftogaz".
The figure was announced by acting CEO Roman Chumak during a meeting with the Japanese ambassador to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome.
"As a result of the attacks, part of the gas production was lost, so the priority task is to restore damaged facilities and resume production before the next heating season.
At the same time, the group continues to import gas to compensate for losses and form sufficient reserves – since the beginning of the year, about 800 million cubic meters of gas have been imported", the statement said.
Naftogaz also reported that work is ongoing with the government and international partners to find financing options for the necessary gas volumes for the upcoming winter.
It is worth noting:
Ukraine may import a record 5 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and depletion of reserves.
