New Postage Stamps Featuring Lighthouses
Ukrposhta has announced the release of new stamps featuring lighthouses from the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
This set is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series, which was initiated in 2009, as stated by company representatives.
The release of these stamps coincides with the 25th anniversary of the State Hydrographic Service, which is responsible for maintaining Ukrainian lighthouses.
"This time, the stamps will share the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as those in Crimea, which, despite being temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine in our hearts", explained Ukrposhta.
The stamps depict:
- Ay-Todor and Chaudin lighthouses in Crimea;
- Shagansk lighthouse in Odesa region;
- Bilosarai and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- the Russian Back lighthouse on the Bug-Dniester-Liman canal in Mykolaiv region.
