The investigation has concluded, and charges have been filed in court. The driver faces potential imprisonment and a ban on driving.

The incident occurred in a village within the Lyman community.

During the investigation, it was found that a 47-year-old local woman operating a «Chery» was inattentive, did not choose a safe speed, and hit a 15-year-old girl crossing the road, who had the opportunity to avoid it.

As a result of the accident, the child sustained injuries, including pelvic fractures, which, according to the expert's conclusion, are classified as moderate bodily harm.

The driver was unharmed, and a sobriety test confirmed she was sober.

The vehicle was impounded, and several expert examinations were ordered.

According to the police chief, sufficient evidence was gathered, and under the supervision of the local prosecutor's office, charges were brought against the driver for violating traffic safety rules that resulted in moderate bodily harm to the victim. The indictment under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been sent to court.

The driver faces up to three years of imprisonment with a ban on driving for up to three years.

We urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations:

- in populated areas, vehicles should not exceed 50 km/h;

- actions or inactions of road participants must not pose danger or obstacles to others;

- to ensure road safety, drivers must be attentive and monitor the traffic situation.
