Dangers of Extreme Activities: Why You Should Avoid Train Surfing

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has recorded 8 incidents of train surfing, resulting in 9 children being injured. For a few seconds of video or thrill, teenagers put themselves in deadly danger.

It's important to remember:

Electric shock, falls, or collisions with obstacles rarely give a second chance.

Why is train surfing not just risky, but deadly?

With voltages up to 27,000 volts, even without touching the wires, the electric shock can be instantaneous.

A fall from a height – one sudden movement can change your life forever.

Collisions with obstacles – bridges, tunnels, supports at speeds of 60-100 km/h can be fatal.

What to do if you see someone on the train or hanging off the transport?

  • Notify the station duty officer or railway staff.
  • Call the Ukrzaliznytsia hotline: 0 800 503 111 (free of charge).
  • Contact the National Police (102) or the State Emergency Service (101).
  • Remember the location of the incident for accurate information relay to the services.

Parents, your vigilance is the key to keeping children safe!

Talk to teenagers about the dangers of train surfing.

Monitor the content on their social media – extreme videos can lead to life-threatening risks.

Pay attention to new interests of your child – a sudden obsession with transportation or extreme videos can be a warning sign.

TEENS, THINK ABOUT IT!

Likes on social media are not worth risking your life.

If friends suggest train surfing – confidently say "no"!
