Young Drug Dealer Apprehended in Odesa Region
In the Odesa region, law enforcement officials have apprehended a 23-year-old male involved in drug trafficking.
Officers from the special police battalion uncovered him in the Khadjibey district as he was preparing to distribute drugs through hidden locations. Upon searching the scene, they discovered a packet containing a dangerous psychotropic substance, confirmed by a rapid test. Police also confiscated eight additional wraps with similar contents from his hiding spots. All substances have been sent for forensic examination.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect received the drugs from an unidentified person he met online and intended to distribute them through hidden locations.
“We have informed the suspect of his charges under part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for the illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances with intent to distribute. This crime carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison along with property confiscation,” reported investigator Serhiy Zholonko.
The court has imposed house arrest as a preventive measure. The investigation into the supply channel of the drugs is ongoing.
The case is being handled by the Malynivska District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa.
