Suspect Arrested for Attempting to Sell Grenades in Izmail
In Izmail, law enforcement has apprehended a 39-year-old man who intended to sell explosive devices. He was caught during the attempted sale of two F-1 grenades for 5,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the police.
Operatives received information that the man was looking for a buyer for the ammunition. During the documentation of the crime, police recorded the handover of the grenades near the train station. The suspect had ammunition and fuses confiscated, which were sent for examination, along with the money received from the sale.
The suspect explained that the grenades were inherited from a deceased relative, and he decided to sell them. He was charged under part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code (illegal handling of explosive devices), which provides for up to seven years in prison. The court has chosen to detain him.
"Law enforcement reminds that voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition exempts from criminal liability" - the statement said.
