Collaboration for Inclusion: New Opportunities
On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a delegation from the Odesa region had the honor of meeting Mr. Arne Frankenstein, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
During the meeting, preliminary agreements were reached on collaboration to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, focusing on exchanging experiences in fostering inclusion and accessibility across various sectors. Special emphasis was placed on training social work professionals and creating innovative accessible spaces for all demographic groups.
The German side shared valuable insights and experiences in resolving pre-judicial conflicts arising from discrimination against persons with disabilities.
Furthermore, we received assurances of support in finding partners to provide specialized vehicles for transporting persons with disabilities, which is crucial for our region.
We sincerely thank Mr. Arne Frankenstein and the German delegation for their openness to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and commitment to working together towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
