Meeting with the Turkish Consul General in Odesa
On October 24, 2024, a significant meeting took place between the Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, and the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Odesa, Mr. Muhittin Celik. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss collaboration opportunities between Odesa and Turkey.
Mr. Celik emphasized the importance of Turkey's support for Ukraine:
«I follow your updates on Telegram and can say that you are doing much more than just fulfilling your mayoral duties. Turkey has stood by Ukraine and its sovereignty since the annexation of Crimea in 2014. We will continue to provide humanitarian assistance and support at the local levels».
The Mayor expressed gratitude to the Turkish people for their support and hopes for further cooperation, particularly in the investment sector.
«It is a pleasure to meet you. We are very grateful that Turkey is one of Ukraine's strategic partners, especially Odesa. Throughout the war, we have received significant aid from your country, including buses, generators, medical supplies, food, and much more. Despite the war, we are developing our city's economy and look forward to Turkish investments,» said Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Both sides expressed their readiness for continued close cooperation to support humanitarian and economic projects in Odesa.
