Renovation and Restoration of the Building on Sofiivska Street
The renovation work at the building on Sofiivska Street is ongoing. The installation of the reinforcement belt for wall connections has been completed, along with the roofing over the most damaged part of the structure. Only a small section of the roof remains to be repaired.
Today, October 31, 2024, Odessa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, discussed key issues with the residents of the building. Among the top priorities are: creating a ceiling between the new roof and the apartments, restoring windows and the heating system, as well as repairing stairs in one of the entrances.
The mayor noted that partnerships with charitable and public organizations providing building materials allow for quicker emergency work and expressed hope for continued collaboration. Budget procedures take a long time, especially since the building is an architectural monument.
Trukhanov thanked the charity fund "Morning of Revival", the NGO "April Tenth", and the UNHCR for their ongoing support and provision of building materials.
The emergency work at the building on Sofiivska Street is being carried out by "JKS Porto-Franківskyi" with the support and coordination of the advisor to the Odessa mayor on humanitarian issues, Veronika Etnarovych.
