Meeting of the Odesa City Tripartite Social-Economic Council

On December 12, 2024, a new meeting of the Odesa City Tripartite Social-Economic Council was held.

The meeting was attended by: Deputy Mayor of Odesa Pavlo Vugelman, Chairman of the Trade Union Federation of Odesa Region Viacheslav Buratynskyi, and Chairman of the Odesa City Employers’ Organization Yevhen Drozd, along with heads of relevant city council departments, industry trade unions, and employers’ organizations.

During the meeting, important issues concerning the city’s livelihoods were addressed:

- the implementation of the construction project for electrical stations based on cogeneration units to enhance the energy security of the city’s critical infrastructure;

- progress on the City Target Program for providing non-repayable financial assistance to homeowners’ associations in Odesa as part of the energy modernization support program «Enerhodim»;

- organization of career guidance activities in educational institutions owned by the Odesa community.

In today's context, the resilience of the city’s economy is crucial.

Valeriy Ivanov, the Director of the Municipal Enterprise «Heat Supply of Odesa», informed the participants about measures to ensure energy security for critical infrastructure amid martial law. He noted that in 2023, a Memorandum was signed between the Odesa City Council and the UN regarding energy security through the establishment of a distributed generation system based on nine gas-piston cogeneration units (CPU), which will ensure stable operation of boiler houses and water supply pumping stations.

The first two units have already been received, and installation work is currently underway at district boiler houses with connections to gas, electrical, and thermal networks.

«This project will help Odesa become more resilient to energy challenges faced by residents, especially during previous blackouts», the speaker emphasized.

Maria Lisnichenko, Deputy Head of the Tariff Policy Department of the Odesa City Economic Development Department, presented information on the progress of the «Enerhodim» program concerning financial support for homeowners’ associations to carry out energy efficiency measures.

As a result of the work in 2024, 11 homeowners’ associations received non-repayable financial assistance from the Odesa city budget totaling over 3.7 million UAH. The implementation of this program will continue into 2025.

A stable economy is key to quality employment, including for young people. The Odesa City Education and Science Department provided information on activities aimed at improving career guidance work with students and raising their awareness in selecting future professions.

The concluding part of the meeting focused on the Council's work plans for the upcoming 2025 year.
