Tragedy in Odesa: Woman Dies After Balcony Collapse
On November 25, a tragic incident occurred in the Primorsky district of Odesa: one of the women injured in a balcony collapse died in the hospital 90-120 minutes after being admitted. The other victim, born in 1969, is in critical condition in intensive care with multiple injuries.
According to Vladislav Severhin, the deputy medical director for surgical work, the women fell from the third to the second floor during the collapse. The patient born in 1949 sustained severe injuries, including an open head injury and multiple fractures. Unfortunately, medical staff were unable to save her.
"The second patient, born in 1969, has sustained multiple injuries: rib fractures from the 3rd to the 12th, right-sided pneumothorax, vertebral fractures, and limb wounds," the doctor reported.
Her condition is serious but more stable; she is in intensive care due to shock. Preliminary reports suggest the victims were not relatives; likely, one was visiting the other. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the balcony collapse.
