New Celebration: Children's Protection Day in Ukraine
In Ukraine, the Children's Protection Day is celebrated for the first time on November 20, coinciding with Universal Children's Day.
This holiday was established by the Presidential Decree of Ukraine №355/2025 on May 30, 2025, and is celebrated annually.
Previously, Children's Protection Day was observed on June 1, according to the Presidential decree from May 30, 1998, which is now invalid.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the Defense Forces are doing everything possible to protect children and their future.
«Today, Ukraine honors the memory of children whose lives were cut short by Russian terrorists. The aggressor denied them the opportunity to grow up in a peaceful country, to dream, and to enjoy childhood. It is the duty of Ukraine and the entire civilized world to ensure that those who committed these inhumane crimes are held accountable. Our military works tirelessly every day to protect children and our future,» the statement reads.
