Maintenance of Drainage Systems in Odesa
The municipal company «City Roads» in Odesa is actively engaged in maintaining drainage systems to ensure effective rainwater runoff from the streets.
Currently, work is being done on the Romanian Canal. Previously, similar activities were carried out on the Kuyalnik and Schelaki canals, as well as at the Buffer Pond.
The Buffer Pond, Romanian Canal, and Kuyalnik Canals play a crucial role in draining stormwater, rainwater, and meltwater from urban areas.
Using specialized equipment, municipal services are clearing the channels and pond of vegetation, debris, and sludge. Particular attention is paid to the most polluted areas where the runoff from private homes is located.
Regular cleaning of storm drains and sewer collectors throughout the city is also conducted. Heavy machinery from «City Roads» is involved in cleaning the channels and flushing the collectors: excavators, graders, MAZ trucks, and high-pressure hydraulic units based on MAN vehicles for flushing pipes.
In the event of heavy rainfall, these activities are carried out on an emergency basis.
