Fish Release in the Hadjibey Estuary

More than 10 tons of fish have been released into the Hadjibey Estuary in Odesa region, including grass carp and common carp. This is reported by the environmental inspection.
As part of the fish stock recovery program, on November 12, 2025, 10,090 kilograms of fish were released into the estuary.

Specifically:

  • 4,742 kilograms of young grass carp;
  • 5,348 kilograms of young common carp.

Additional information: the choice of these fish species for stocking the water body is ecologically significant, particularly:

  • Grass carp are natural filter feeders that consume phytoplankton, reducing its excess in the water and helping combat algal blooms;
  • Common carp are omnivorous, adaptable to conditions, and can withstand changes in temperature and oxygen levels well.
