New Digital Ecosystem to Support Unemployed in Ukraine

A new digital platform named "Obri" is set to launch in Ukraine, aimed at helping unemployed individuals find work and receive necessary support. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
She stated that the government has already approved the launch of the platform. Svyrydenko explained that the new system will operate through the “Diia” app.

Ukrainians will be able to:

  • officially register their unemployment status;
  • apply for financial assistance;
  • legally resign from jobs in temporarily occupied territories;
  • access grants up to 15,000 UAH for retraining.

The system will utilize artificial intelligence to identify individuals who have lost their jobs and match them with suitable vacancies based on skills, experience, and location.
Real-time data will assist the government and businesses in forecasting the need for specialists. The State Employment Service will serve as the administrator of the new system, and all key government agencies will be involved.
Svyrydenko also clarified that if a person does not find a job within 60 days of being laid off, career advisors from the employment service will offer them job opportunities, training, retraining options, or grants even before officially obtaining unemployment status.
