New Initiative to Support IDPs in Ukraine

A major new project named "Shelter. Work" was launched in Kyiv to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) in finding employment and housing, aiding their integration into local communities. This was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy and Family of Ukraine.
The "Shelter. Work" platform features job vacancies that include housing provided by employers, retraining programs, and utilizes advanced technology for job searching.
"When a person has a place to live and a job, they become an active part of the community, paying taxes, raising children, and contributing to local development. "Shelter. Work" is a practical example of how to connect these two vital elements," said Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin.
Member of Parliament and project initiator Halyna Yanchanko shared that the program started from day one of the full-scale invasion, initially as a social media group that helped over 1 million Ukrainians find housing.
"At first, the project was just a means for IDPs to find free accommodation. However, it has now evolved into an opportunity for people to restart their lives," she stated.
