Severe Weather Alert in Odesa: High Winds and Rain Expected

The Hydrometeorological Center of the Black and Azov Seas in collaboration with the Odesa City Council.

Warning about dangerous meteorological phenomena of Level I (yellow) danger

On October 8, Odesa is expected to experience northeast winds reaching speeds of 15-20 m/s. Significant rainfall is anticipated in the morning and afternoon.

The Odesa City Council reminds residents and visitors to be vigilant regarding changes in weather conditions, to limit movement and travel, especially for the elderly, children, and pregnant women. Caution should be exercised when moving under trees, as strong winds and rain may cause branches and wires to fall.

Please refrain from leaving vehicles under trees, near power lines, and on stormwater drains.

The danger of being in the beach area is extremely high. Due to the storm in the Black Sea, the mine danger is increasing. There is a high likelihood of sea mines breaking free from their anchors and being washed ashore or drifting along the coastline. The risk of uncontrolled detonation of a mine is also possible, especially during stormy weather. If you discover a sea mine or any similar objects, do not touch them and immediately report to 102.
