New Social Support Program for Ukrainians

Currently, Ukrainians can apply for basic social assistance through the «Diya» platform.

This was announced by Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko via Telegram.

She emphasized that it is crucial for the government to provide quick and unobstructed support to every Ukrainian family.

«We are changing our approach: instead of multiple types of payments, we are introducing a unified basic social assistance. This will simplify the process of receiving aid for families in difficult situations, including low-income families, single mothers, and children whose parents evade child support payments,» Svyrydenko noted.

Applications for assistance can be submitted online via «Diya». «It’s very simple: just a few steps in the app, and you will receive a preliminary calculation of your monthly payment. If everything suits you, submit your application. No extra time spent on gathering paper documents,» the Prime Minister emphasized.

Svyrydenko also pointed out that the amount of assistance is calculated individually. It is based on the minimum income level, which is currently set at 4,500 UAH per person in a family.

This pilot project is designed for two years, and the government is already working towards making it permanent. «We have approved and submitted the relevant bill to Parliament,» the Prime Minister stated, expressing gratitude to international partners for their assistance in making social services more accessible.

We remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a bill that proposes transforming state social assistance for low-income families into basic social assistance starting January 1, 2026, consolidating various forms of state aid.
