Today, August 30, Ukraine celebrates Aviation Day.

President Volodymyr Zelensky took to Telegram to congratulate aviators on their professional holiday, emphasizing that thanks to them, Ukrainian skies are well protected.

"Aviation Day. A day for those who have made the sky their work, dream, and true calling. Military and civilian. Pilots, crews, engineers, designers, air traffic controllers, technicians – all of you contribute greatly to Ukraine. Our sky is safe under your watch," — he wrote.

The president expressed gratitude to everyone working for our safety and the strength of Ukraine in the skies. He also thanked all who are developing Ukrainian aviation.

"We will certainly do everything possible to ensure that the skies over Ukraine remain peaceful and secure. Happy Aviation Day to Ukraine!" — noted the head of state.

Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal highlighted on Facebook the importance of Aviation Day in Ukraine: "Today we thank all those who help defend our country in the skies: pilots, crews, engineers. You are the true heroes working daily to repel Russian terror and save the lives of Ukrainians."

"Eternal memory to the representatives of Ukrainian aviation who gave their lives for Ukraine. Their feats will forever remain in our hearts," — noted Shmyhal.

He expressed gratitude to "allies who help elevate our aviation capabilities to a new level. Ukraine will always remember your support in the toughest times."

"Dear aviators – pilots, navigators, engineers, communicators, combat control officers, and everyone who safeguards the Ukrainian sky. You are a reliable support in defending our state. Thanks to your steel endurance, bravery, and professionalism, millions of Ukrainians can live, work, and grow our country," — congratulated the Ukrainian aviators Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Anatoliy Kryvonozhko.

According to him, the courage, resilience, and self-sacrifice of aviators save lives and instill confidence in the hearts of Ukrainians.

"You are the pride of the nation and a symbol of the indomitability of the Ukrainian people," — emphasized the commander.
