Tragic Night Fire in Odesa Region
Last night, in the village of Mizhlimanske in the Odesa region, a private house along with an extension was engulfed in flames. Firefighters, upon arrival, discovered the body of a man, whose identity is yet to be determined.
According to the State Emergency Service of Odesa region, the fire spread through the private residence and its extension. Although the fire was extinguished, the body of the deceased was found during the operation.
Authorities are currently working to identify the victim. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damages are also being investigated. Preliminary theories include careless handling of fire, electrical faults, or other technical issues.
"While extinguishing the fire, the body of a man was discovered, but the identity is still being verified," the State Emergency Service reported.
To combat the fire, 3 units of equipment and 13 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved. Additionally, 1 unit of equipment and 4 rescuers from the National Guard of Ukraine's fire unit were dispatched. Their combined efforts allowed for quick localization of the fire.
The fire was extinguished over an area of 95 square meters, which included both the house and its extension. Firefighters operated under challenging night conditions to ensure the safety of nearby buildings.
