Celebrating Communication Troops Day in Ukraine
Today, Ukrainian military communicators are celebrating their professional holiday - Communication Troops Day.
This day, August 8, was established by a Presidential decree in 2000 to commemorate the beginning of training for communicators in Kyiv in 1920.
Following Ukraine's independence on January 3, 1992, the communications department of the Red Banner Kyiv Military District became responsible for military communications.
In 2020, as part of military reforms, the Command of Communication Troops and Cybersecurity was established in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Today, communication troops play a crucial role in ensuring communication within the Armed Forces, and specialists in this field are highly demanded at the front.
President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged the importance of communication troops and their role in ensuring operational success.
Zelensky emphasized that this is a day of gratitude for those who maintain communication in critical moments.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal also congratulated the military communicators, stressing the importance of reliable communication for successful military operations.
He expressed appreciation for the professionalism of military communicators, who provide timely information and support on the front lines.
