Extreme Heat and Fires in Odesa: A Threat to the Ecosystem
In the past week, more than 350 fires occurred in the Odesa region due to unusually high temperatures.
This information has been provided by the State Emergency Service.
The heat in the region has led to a significant increase in fires in open areas and ecosystems.
Daily, our firefighters respond to dozens, and sometimes over a hundred calls to extinguish these fires.
Working under challenging conditions: in high temperatures, with heavy equipment, and without breaks, they fight against the consequences of human negligence, striving to protect their homeland and residences from flames.
According to the State Ecological Inspectorate for the Southwestern District, environmental damage has exceeded 26 billion hryvnias! These are not just numbers - they represent irretrievable losses caused by human indifference, an unextinguished match, a cigarette butt, or the 'tradition' of burning dry grass.
We once again urge everyone to be responsible and stop burning our country!
