Rising Electricity Consumption in Ukraine Due to Heatwave
On Friday, July 25, electricity consumption is rising due to the hot weather across Ukraine.
This is reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.
"Electricity consumption is showing an upward trend. Today, July 25, at 9:30, it was 6.9% higher than at the same time the previous day – Thursday. The reason is the heat affecting the entire country. Additionally, cloudy weather with rain in some western and northern regions leads to reduced efficiency of household power plants, resulting in increased consumption from the overall grid," the statement reads.
Yesterday, July 24, the daily peak consumption was recorded in the evening, exceeding the maximum of the previous day by 1.7%.
Ukrenergo reminded that the Ukrainian energy system continues to recover after massive missile and drone attacks from Russia. Emergency recovery works at energy facilities are ongoing.
The company emphasized the need for energy conservation today and urged to limit the use of high-power appliances until 10 PM.
