Celebrating Ukrainian Statehood Day
On July 15, the nation celebrates Ukrainian Statehood Day.
In honor of this national holiday, a ceremony was held in Odessa where flowers were laid at the monument of T.G. Shevchenko in the park named after him.
Officials from the region and city, military personnel, clergy, and the public participated in the event.
The Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, extended his greetings for the national holiday:
«Ukrainian statehood has its roots in Kyivan Rus and runs through centuries of struggle, faith, and sacrifice. Today, it is not just a historical fact but a daily choice - to live with dignity, speak the truth, and act for the community's welfare. This day reminds us that being Ukrainian means not only continuing our history but also resolutely opposing those who seek to take away our freedom, dignity, and right to be masters of our land. We do not remain silent when truth is destroyed. We do not stop when it gets tough. We do not give up. Ukrainian statehood is us. It is in our words, our decisions, our daily resilience, and solidarity. It is a symbol of unity, faith, and the unwavering strength of our people.»
