Every summer, we not only enjoy the sunny weather but also hear heartbreaking news about child accidents. Recently, a tragic incident occurred in the Odessa region where a little girl lost her life while celebrating her birthday with her family, who traveled from Kyiv.
While her mother was busy unpacking, the child wandered to the pool. Just a few moments of inattention led to a devastating tragedy.
In such cases, it is essential to emphasize that there is no "safe" distance near water without an adult present. Rivers, lakes, and pools can all be hazardous. Mere seconds of distraction can turn a joyful outing into a disaster.
The police urge: never leave children unattended anywhere, at any time. Do not allow play near water without adults. Teach kids from an early age that water is not just fun but also dangerous, and how to act in emergency situations. If a child cannot swim yet, provide them with flotation devices and stay close by.
Remember: constant supervision and knowledge of safety rules can save lives.
