Youth in Odesa Stand Against Recruitment: A Patriotism Example

Young in age but mature in actions: in Odesa, police recognized teenagers who resisted recruitment attempts by Russian special services. Not only did they decline to cooperate with the aggressor, but they also informed adults about the hostile offers. Law enforcement thanked the youth for their civic awareness.

Four boys and a girl aged 14 to 17 received criminal proposals via messaging apps. They were offered money to take photos of military facilities, set fire to relay cabinets, and vehicles of military and police.

The teenagers immediately reported this to the authorities. Their principled refusal to collaborate with the enemy helped prevent a number of dangerous crimes.

“These children demonstrated maturity and responsibility, showing a true example of patriotism. They did not succumb to hostile promises and turned down 'easy money,' choosing the side of truth. They acted as conscious citizens of their state. We sincerely thank them and urge everyone not to remain silent about similar cases,” said Victoria Chalova, head of the juvenile prevention department of the Odesa region police.

Law enforcement expressed gratitude to the parents for raising their children well, and presented the teenagers with certificates and gifts.

Their actions serve as an inspiring example for their peers, reminding us that even at a young age, one can be a conscientious citizen who cares about the safety of the country.

Authorities continue educational work among the youth, explaining the threats of recruitment and cyber safety rules. They also urge everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious contacts or offers. Every act of concern is a contribution to our collective victory.
