Odessa Region Leads Harvesting in Ukraine

The Odessa region has become the undisputed leader of the 2025 harvesting season in Ukraine. As of June 27, local farmers have harvested 132.3 thousand tons of new grain, which accounts for more than half of the national total.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian farmers have started harvesting, and as of June 27, they have threshed 74.3 thousand hectares, collecting 188.1 thousand tons of early grains and legumes.

"Ukrainian farmers have begun harvesting. As of June 27, 74.3 thousand hectares have been harvested, yielding 188.1 thousand tons of early grains and legumes. The rapeseed harvest has also commenced," reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Harvesting has started in three regions of Ukraine: Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk. However, farmers in Odessa are showing the best results, far ahead of their closest competitors. Mykolaiv farmers have harvested 43.7 thousand tons of grain, while Dnipropetrovsk farmers have only managed 8.3 thousand tons.

Overall, Ukrainian farmers have harvested 22.4 thousand tons of wheat from 10.5 thousand hectares, 151.6 thousand tons of barley from 55.4 thousand hectares, and 14.2 thousand tons of peas from 8.4 thousand hectares.

In addition to grains, farmers in Mykolaiv and Odessa have begun collecting rapeseed, which has been harvested from 4.2 thousand hectares. This indicates that the southern regions of Ukraine continue to be the breadbasket of the country due to favorable climatic conditions and early maturation of crops.
