New Phase of Creating Accessible Urban Spaces in Odesa

Odesa is actively implementing a project focused on marking a barrier-free route.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has unveiled a new visual style for communications related to the implementation of the National Strategy for creating a barrier-free space by 2030.

This design includes:

  • a unified logo;
  • agreed rules for font and color usage;
  • a visual concept,
  • based on six areas of barrier-free access:
  • physical,
  • informational,
  • educational,
  • digital,
  • civic,
  • economic.

Each area is represented by a distinct point in the logo. Together, they form a circle — a symbol of unity, inclusion, and equal space for everyone, regardless of their individual characteristics.

The marking of the barrier-free route in Odesa is taking place with this new logo.

This is a significant step in a large initiative launched by Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, as part of the pilot project «Movement without Barriers». The marking is being carried out by expert groups from the Council of Barrier-Free Access involving individuals with disabilities, urban planners, and accessibility specialists.
