Wildfire in Tuzlovski Lymany National Park: Impact on Wildlife

Recently, a significant wildfire broke out in a unique steppe area on the western shore of the Khadjider estuary within the Tuzlovski Lymany National Park.

This was reported by park staff member, Dr. Ivan Rusev, a biological scientist.

“Many insects, bird nests, lizards, and ant hills perished as a result of the fire,” the scientist stated.

The total area affected by the fire exceeds 5 hectares.

Currently, the national park’s state protection service is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and assessing the damage inflicted on the nature reserve.

On the national park’s official page, it was noted that wildfires have become more frequent in recent times, leading to devastating and sometimes fatal consequences.
