Recognition of the Vietnamese Community's Contribution in Odesa
Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov awarded the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Vietnam to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach, with the Odesa Mayor's badge of «Gratitude».
During the ongoing war, the Vietnamese community continues to support social institutions in Odesa, as well as the Odesa Zoo.
Thanks to the initiative of the Ambassador and the Vietnamese community, a new aviary for green peacocks has been built at the zoo.
"Many Vietnamese people have found a home and prosperity in Odesa. When the city creates favorable conditions for its residents, it is only logical that the residents take responsibility for the city’s development," said the Ambassador.
During the event, the Vietnamese community showcased its national traditions and culture.
The Mayor of Odesa expressed gratitude to all participants and the Vietnamese people, emphasizing the importance of caring for our lesser brothers, especially during wartime.
He also stated that the restoration of the Odesa Zoo, which began before the invasion, will certainly continue after our victory.
