New Initiatives for a Barrier-Free Odesa

Today, June 5th, an important online meeting took place in Odesa, led by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba and his deputy Natalia Kozlovska.

The meeting included representatives from the Odesa City Council, notably: First Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Filatov, advisor on accessibility issues Oleksii Morozov, and heads of various departments.

During the dialogue, the participants discussed the implementation of the "Movement Without Barriers" project and the progress of the inclusive tram route "North-South".

Attention was drawn to the technical aspects of the route, particularly regarding the marking of specific sections and the planned activities.

Odesa is currently actively marking the inclusive tram route "North-South". Recently, project representatives from Kyiv visited the city to familiarize themselves with the route plan. Following the inspection, an action plan was approved.

The "Movement Without Barriers" project is part of the National Strategy for creating an accessible environment in Ukraine, to which Odesa is actively contributing.

The initiative for the inclusive tram route "North-South" was proposed by the Odesa City Council and approved by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development. It fully aligns with the goals of the National Strategy.

The coordination of the project's implementation at the local level is managed by the Odesa Accessibility Council.
