Conference on Accessibility in Ukraine
Ukraine is observing a week of accessibility. To mark this occasion, a nationwide conference titled «Path to Inclusion» took place on May 20 in Kyiv.
The event brought together government officials, international organizations, and civil society representatives.
Representing Odesa at the conference were Alexey Morozov, advisor to the mayor on accessibility, and Alexander Zhiltsov, secretary of the Accessibility Council.
During a panel discussion focused on creating accessible conditions in communities, participants explored principles, tools, and challenges faced by Ukrainian cities.
The discussion was moderated by Tatyana Lomakina, an advisor to the President of Ukraine on accessibility issues.
«Accessibility is about people. It’s encouraging that our experiences are generating interest. We share our accomplishments and draw inspiration from new ideas,» noted Alexey Morozov.
«We have a clear understanding of how this works, as Odesa is already developing a system based on dialogue and cooperation, leading to noticeable changes,» added Alexander Zhiltsov.
Odesa's experience in inclusion is becoming a vital part of the national dialogue on sustainable development. This affirms the city's commitment to accessibility and engagement.
