Autumn Greenery Preparations in Odessa
The municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest» has begun preparing the green spaces of Odessa for the cold season.
This year, 380 young trees will be planted, including plane trees, birches, and acacias. All trees are 8-10 years old and have been specially grown for the city.
Additionally, there are plans to plant 1,500 shrubs and 3,000 units of miscanthus.
The planting works are expected to commence around mid-October.
Starting in November, the enterprise will begin winterizing its automatic irrigation systems, of which there are about 50 in the city.
Work has also begun on preparing the enterprise «Troyanda» greenhouses for winter. Insulation and seed preparation for the next year have already started.
Each year, around 1 million plants are grown in the greenhouses, including 250,000 spring flowers and 11,000 ornamental trees.

In 2024, Odessa plans to plant 200,000 spring and summer flowers, as well as 100 hanging flower pots.
In September of this year, gardeners planted 5,000 chrysanthemum bushes, which will soon bloom and beautify the city.
