Odessa Boiler Reconstruction Work
Today, November 12, a boiler facility in Odessa was forced to stop operations for six hours due to necessary chimney repairs.
Following the end of the previous heating season, the company KP «TMO» commissioned a complete inspection of chimneys. In June, a report was received indicating that one chimney needed emergency work — on the «Northern-1».
As noted by Odessa's deputy mayor Anna Pozdnyakova, there are no comparable cases in the country considering the height of the chimney (120 meters). A crane with a capacity of 600 tons was brought in for the work, with the crane itself weighing 970 tons.
There are very few such cranes in Ukraine, and they are all engaged in recovery work on energy facilities after attacks.
«According to the schedule, the crane was supposed to be at the KP «TMO» site back in August, but due to circumstances beyond our control, the timelines were significantly pushed back — the equipment was engaged in other critical tasks. Moreover, this level and scale of work require highly qualified specialists, and their availability has also proven to be a challenge in our reality. We are working considering the circumstances that we cannot influence,» said Anna Pozdnyakova.
KP «TMO» apologizes for the temporary inconveniences and emphasizes that it is doing everything possible to ensure that the heating process for Odessa residents remains stable and reliable throughout the heating season.
