Autumn Weather in Odesa: How Municipal Workers Tackle the Aftermath

Autumn brings rain, wind, and a lot of fallen leaves, complicating the work of municipal workers. The municipal services are actively working on the city streets to keep them clean.

In Odesa, 8 teams from the Municipal Enterprise «City Roads» are on duty, ensuring proper drainage of rainwater. They promptly clear the grates of storm drains from leaves and debris that accumulate during the rains.

Currently, 46 units of specialized equipment and 328 workers are involved in the operations.

The cleaning of stormwater drainage systems is carried out regularly, both manually and with heavy machinery from «City Roads», which includes excavators with special attachments, motor graders, and high-pressure hydraulic units for pipe cleaning.

Workers from the «Housing and Utility Services» also actively clean storm drain grates near homes, sweeping and removing fallen leaves and debris from adjacent areas.

Every day, about 180 workers from the «City Green Trust» maintain order in the city's green spaces. Due to the inclement weather, 3 trees have already been downed, and many branches have been broken.

Greenery workers are involved in cutting and removing fallen trees and branches, as well as sweeping and collecting a considerable amount of fallen leaves from parks and squares.
