Enhancing Pedestrian Safety with New Posts
Specialists from KУ «СМЕП» are carrying out the installation of road delineators and metal posts along pedestrian areas.
These initiatives promote:
- the safety of pedestrians – preventing vehicles from encroaching onto sidewalks and green areas;
- the organization of parking – stopping chaotic parking, especially in narrow sections;
- the separation of traffic flows – delineators help maintain traffic lanes and reduce the risk of accidents.
According to item 11.13 of the traffic rules, vehicular movement on sidewalks and pedestrian paths is prohibited. Additionally, item 15.10 states that parking on sidewalks is also forbidden.
Sidewalks are designated spaces for pedestrians, the elderly, and individuals with limited mobility. It is crucial to ensure safety and comfort for pedestrians, especially near medical facilities and areas with high pedestrian activity.
