The Importance of Stroke Prevention: Medical Day Results in Odesa

On October 29, in honor of World Stroke Day, medical institutions in Odesa hosted a Stroke Prevention Day focused on early detection of stroke risk factors. This event was supported by the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center.

On this day, anyone interested could undergo free preventive examinations, including blood pressure measurement, pulse rate checks, blood glucose level assessment, ECG, and receive referrals for laboratory tests and consultations with specialists. Doctors provided patients with advice on stroke prevention.

As a result of the event, a total of 1735 patients underwent preventive examinations. This led to the discovery of 294 cases of elevated blood pressure and 102 instances of high blood glucose levels. A total of 867 ECGs were conducted, of which 136 patients were referred for cardiology consultations. Laboratory tests were ordered for 895 patients.
