New Developments in Bronchoscopy in Odesa
Last year, around 300 bronchoscopy procedures were conducted in Odesa's medical facilities. This enabled the timely identification of 45 suspected cases of oncology and referral of patients for further consultations and treatments.
Bronchoscopy is an examination of the trachea and bronchi using an endoscope, which helps detect respiratory organ cancers at early stages. It is recommended to undergo this procedure routinely after the age of 50, even in the absence of complaints.
This procedure is part of the state medical guarantee program and is performed free of charge upon referral from a family or treating physician, particularly for patients receiving inpatient treatment.
Modern bronchoscopy equipment has been purchased for Odesa's medical facilities with city budget funds. Bronchoscopy can be done free of charge by appointment at the following addresses:
