Mental Health Awareness Day in Odesa

Last week, Odesa hosted an event aimed at raising awareness about mental health among its residents.

This initiative was organized in observance of World Mental Health Day with support from the local health department and healthcare facilities.

During the event, family doctors, pediatricians, and psychologists engaged with adult patients and parents, discussing the importance of mental health care and offering self-care tips.

If needed, doctors referred patients to psychologists available at local health centers as part of the nationwide program “How Are You?” providing free psychological support.

As a result of the event, over 550 residents received consultations – around 450 adults and more than 100 children. Additionally, psychologists provided 115 consultations.

To maximize outreach, mobile events were held in parks and recreational areas for Mental Health Day.

Everyone had the opportunity to receive advice on maintaining mental health and participate in workshops and art therapy activities. Approximately 500 people attended these outreach events, including over 150 children.
