Advanced Surgical Techniques in Odessa

In Odessa, at Hospital No. 1, there is a cutting-edge minimally invasive surgery department equipped with the latest medical technology. This department is located in the newly renovated main building of the hospital, funded by the city's budget. A team of experienced surgeons employs modern European protocols for performing surgeries.

Every week, the staff carries out more than 40 surgeries, 80% of which are performed using minimally invasive methods such as laparoscopy and thoracoscopy. The department specializes in endoscopic procedures on abdominal organs, including the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and other organs. Additionally, minor surgical interventions are performed through percutaneous punctures guided by ultrasound.

Last year, over 5400 surgeries and 1500 endoscopic examinations were conducted, including: 873 trauma surgeries, 847 gynecological surgeries, 441 urological surgeries, 511 ENT surgeries, 311 thoracic surgeries, and 126 vascular surgeries.

The advantages of minimally invasive surgery include:
- reduced trauma: smaller incisions lead to less bleeding and pain post-surgery;
- quick recovery: patients typically return to their normal lives much faster than after traditional surgery;
- better cosmetic results: smaller scars and lower risk of complications.
