Border Guards Join Blood Donation Initiative in Odesa
The personnel of the Odesa border unit of the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have once again participated in the «Donor Odesa» project.
About twenty border guards took part in a collective blood donation, most of whom are regular donors. The military understands the critical need for a blood reserve in wartime to save the lives of comrades, civilians, and anyone in urgent need.
«For us, protecting Ukraine is not only about combat duty and daily service at the border. It is also about being ready to extend a helping hand to those fighting for their lives in hospitals», — the border guards stated.
Each blood donation can save up to three lives. Donating blood not only offers a chance for survival to another person but is also beneficial for the donor's health in the absence of contraindications.
Since the onset of full-scale war, the «Donor Odesa» project has been facilitating blood donations for the needs of both civilian and military medical institutions, providing over 14,000 donations during this time.
It is crucial for every Ukrainian who can donate blood to participate in this initiative.
