Revitalization of Hospital in Odessa: New Horizons for Medical Care
In Odessa, the revitalization of City Clinical Hospital No. 1, a medical institution with a rich history spanning over 200 years, is actively taking place.
«This is not merely renovation; it is a transformation for the hospital, known to locals as the Jewish Hospital. We are preserving cultural heritage while creating a comfortable environment for treatment,» emphasized Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
Currently, the simultaneous reconstruction of the surgical pavilion and the former utility building, which will become a rehabilitation center, is ongoing.
The work is being conducted without halting medical services, as the hospital continues to accept patients.
Previously, the admission and gynecology departments were updated, and the roofs of the therapeutic and neurological buildings were repaired.
This has not only improved the conditions for patients but also ensured the continuity of medical services.
The facility is equipped with alternative sources of energy and water supply, which is critically important in wartime conditions.
Additionally, the connection of a new modular boiler house is in progress, ensuring stable heating for all hospital buildings.
The mayor noted that the restoration of the surgical pavilion and the installation of the modular boiler are being funded by the European Investment Bank as part of the state recovery program for Ukraine.
The project is being implemented on a co-financing basis: 80% from the bank and 20% from the city budget.
