Hepatitis Testing Campaign in Odesa
Last week in Odesa, supported by the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center, a campaign was held in honor of World Hepatitis Day.
On this day, everyone had the opportunity to anonymously undergo a rapid test for hepatitis B and C at no cost. Regular check-ups allow for early detection of hepatitis before clinical symptoms appear, enabling timely treatment and preventing severe liver damage and other complications.
During the event, 483 individuals participated in voluntary anonymous testing, with 10 testing positive. 20 individuals were referred for consultation with an infectious disease specialist.
Healthcare professionals remind that hepatitis B and C testing using rapid tests is included in the free primary healthcare package under the state medical guarantees program. Tests can be done with your family doctor.
