Patient Verification: New Milestones in Healthcare
As of June 29, over 90% of patients in contracted primary healthcare facilities have confirmed their data in the electronic healthcare system.
This was announced by the Minister of Health, Viktor Lyashko, on Facebook.
He emphasized, "Changes in the healthcare system are impossible without an honest dialogue with those who work with patients daily. I met with family doctors to discuss the challenges they face in their work and to collectively find optimal solutions. An open dialogue is crucial for the system's resilience, especially during wartime. One of the key issues currently concerning the professional community is the verification of patient data in the electronic healthcare system."
"I understand that this creates additional pressure on doctors. However, it is about transparency. It is essential that the system finances real patients rather than statistics. This is a fundamental principle of reform: money follows the patient. In real conditions of limited resources, this principle holds even greater significance," Lyashko stressed.
He informed that, according to the National Health Service of Ukraine, as of June 29, over 90% of patients in contracted primary healthcare facilities have been verified.
"This is a significant joint effort. To enhance it, the National Health Service of Ukraine has launched an updated analytical dashboard: each facility can see its own metrics, compare dynamics, and orient itself towards best practices," Lyashko noted.
He also mentioned that they discussed how to act in cases where patients do not pass verification, adding that clear solutions will be developed in the near future.
The Minister of Health urged all Ukrainians to assist in this process: "If you are receiving services — please confirm your data. This is about our shared responsibility for stability and fairness in the healthcare system."
