Innovative Rehabilitation Approaches in Odessa
Last week, representatives from healthcare facilities in Odessa participated in a major scientific and practical conference titled “Rehabilitation Development in Ukraine 2025”. This event was organized with the support of the Rehabilitation Management Association and the Odessa National Medical University.
During the conference, contemporary achievements and future prospects for the rehabilitation services in Odessa and Southern Ukraine were discussed. A significant interest was raised regarding the opportunities Odessa provides for veterans in adaptive sports, including participation in international competitions. The effectiveness of this method for medical-psychological rehabilitation and the social integration of Ukraine's defenders was emphasized.
There were also discussions on implementing a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation exemplified by City Clinical Hospital No. 10. Specialists from City Hospital No. 8 shared their experience in integrating rehabilitation infrastructure into the natural environment and utilizing training grounds that mimic natural and urban settings in the rehabilitation process.
It was noted that Odessa possesses substantial medical and recreational potential for developing a comprehensive rehabilitation system in Southern Ukraine.
