Collective Blood Donation: A Contribution to Victory
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the demand for blood donations has significantly increased and remains high. Medical professionals at Primary Health Care Center No. 16 have organized their eleventh blood donation event this week.
«Our military selflessly defends us, and when they are injured, we can repay them by sharing a part of our blood to save their lives. We must continue this support and do everything possible,» said the director of PHCC No. 16, Hanna Pavlega, who regularly donates blood and inspires her team by example.
During the event, about fifteen employees of PHCC No. 16 donated blood. One donation can save up to three lives.
The blood donation was part of the city charity project «Weeks of Good Deeds».
Today, as Ukraine has been holding the front for over three years, blood donation serves as another line of defense. It is crucial for all individuals without contraindications to participate in blood donation.
Donating blood not only saves lives but is also beneficial for the donor:
- prevents cardiovascular diseases and thrombosis;
- reduces the risk of several types of cancer;
- promotes overall body renewal.
Donors are granted two additional days off with pay.
