Odesa Wushu School Trains New European Champions
The European Wushu Championship took place in Heraklion (Greece), featuring 650 athletes from 29 countries.
The Ukrainian national team included students from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 1.
European champions included: Andriy Oliynyk (short weapon), Erika Chen (traditional fist), Iryna Mizina (contact fights, Tuishou), and Sofia Osadchuk - twice (contact fights, Tuishou and fist, Baji Quan).
Silver medals were won by: Erika Chen (short weapon), Iryna Mizina (long weapon), Sofia Osadchuk (traditional fist), Sofia Burlya – twice (traditional fist and short weapon), Ariadna Pavlyuchenko (pair weapon), and Roman Nedin (pair weapon).
Bronze medals were awarded to: Valeriya Blahodyr (short weapon), Andriy Oliynyk (traditional fist), Erika Chen (traditional fist), Sofia Osadchuk (long weapon), Marina Yazikova (pair weapon), Sofia Tatarenko (pair weapon), Ariadna Pavlyuchenko (traditional fist), and Roman Nedin (traditional fist).
The athletes were trained by coaches: Leonid Borisov, Hanna Borisova, Daria Metka, Iryna Igumenova, and Daria Pylypenko.
