U-17 National Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship in Ukraine
From April 4 to 6, the U-17 National Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling was held in Khmelnytskyi.
This competition served as a qualifying round for the European Championship set to take place in June in Italy.
The gold medal and a spot at the European Championship were claimed by Herman Basarab (48 kg), a member of the Odesa Sports Wrestling Federation, representing the Greek wrestling club, the Olympic Sports School, and the Dynamo Sports Society.
Another Odesa athlete, Danilo Dragulyan, competing in the 65 kg category, lost a tense final match to a Kharkiv wrestler, earning a silver medal and a place in the Ukrainian national team.
Both athletes were trained by experienced coaches — Viktor Synyavskyi and Oleksandr Hraban.
