Funding for Shelter Projects in Educational Institutions of Odesa Region
The Ukrainian government has approved funding for 60 projects aimed at establishing shelters in educational institutions, with 6 of them to be implemented in the Odesa region.
The majority of the funds will be directed to communities with high safety risks, where the presence of shelters is crucial.
The first shelters will be constructed in the schools of the Kodym, Lyman, Mayaki (two facilities), Vygodianska, and Kulyalnytska communities.
Project selection was conducted through the electronic platform DREAM, which will also allow monitoring of the entire construction and reporting process.
The working group of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, led by the First Deputy Head Oleksandr Kharlov, provided support for the applications from our region.
We are expecting the approval of an additional 50 projects agreed upon by the Ministry of Education and Science committee. In particular, additional funding for the construction of 3 bomb shelters in the Dobroslav, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Molohiv communities is planned, as well as the inclusion of a shelter for a school in the Vylkiv community into the funding list.
A safe educational environment is not only about comfort but also about guaranteeing protection for every child and educator. We continue to work to ensure that all educational institutions in Odesa have reliable shelters!
